This photo was taken on the Westbank
First Nations Reserve in the 1930's. Though it was not taken specifically
at Mission Creek, this photo shows a traditional drying rack in use. The
greatest number of fish were taken from Mission Creek during the months of
June to October and this was the time of the capture of kickinee (salmon).
There were a number of camps located along the creek during this period.
Many of the creeks in the ara also contained trout and these were captured
in the earlier months of the spring.
