Phase2
Bridges
There are three pedestrian bridges
on the Phase 2 trail. They are steel bridges and have wood
decks and wood sideboards. The paint colour for the steel has been selected
to ensure that the bridges blend with the surroundings.
The shortest span is about 120 feet.
The location of the bridges can be seen on the Phase 2 Trail Map
here.

Bridge Images
This image is of a truss type
bridge that was located near the original Dan Gallagher homestead on Mission
Creek. The view is looking Northeast from the South side of the creek.
This is an image of a pipe crossing
bridge on Mission Creek, with a mid creek support foundation.
The location is near KLO Creek upstream of the McCulloch Road crossing. The
pipe was about 36" in diameter.
This is one of three rather precarious
looking suspension bridges ("swinging bridges") that is close to the location
of one of the new bridges - about .5 kilometres east of the East Kelowna
Road bridge. The South East Kelowna bench is visible in the background.
The children are Rex Fitzgerald and his sister Mary and the picture was taken
about 1940-41.
This photo shows the high level
suspension bridge that crossed the top of Scenic Canyon near what is now
Gallagher's Canyon Golf Course.
